Hong Kong fica no sudeste da China, na margem oriental do rio Pérola.

Uma ex-colônia britânica que foi devolvida à China em 1997, a cidade segue o princípio de “um país, dois sistemas”, que a diferencia do resto da China.

Por esse motivo, Hong Kong mantém seu próprio sistema jurídico (direito comum), moeda (o dólar de Hong Kong), sistema político (um sistema multipartidário), equipes esportivas internacionais, domínio da internet (.hk), código de discagem (+852) e código da estrada (dirigindo à esquerda).

Hong Kong tem sua própria força policial, que foi fundada sob o domínio britânico em 1844.

Originalmente chamada de Polícia Real de Hong Kong, tornou-se posteriormente a Força Policial de Hong Kong.

A cidade é o centro de cantopop, um gênero musical exclusivo de Hong Kong e também conhecido como HK-Pop.

Suas estrelas incluem Leslie Cheung e Anita Mui.

Hong Kong is in south-eastern China, on the eastern bank of the Pearl River.

A former British colony that was handed back to China in 1997, the city follows the “one country, two systems” principle, which sets it apart from the rest of China.

For that reason, Hong Kong retains its own legal system (common law), currency (the Hong Kong dollar), political system (a multi-partysystem), international sports teams, internet domain (.hk), dial code (+852) and highway code (driving on the left). Hong Kong has its own police force, which was founded under British rule in 1844.

Originally called the Royal Hong Kong Police, it subsequently became the Hong Kong Police Force.

The city is the centre of cantopop, a musical genre unique to Hong Kong and also known as HK-Pop.

Its stars include Leslie Cheung and Anita Mui.
